Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ricardinho Marinho got the match started through his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dadá Barbosa in the 4th minute of play forced Ipauanema's goalkeeper Luís Guilherme Donato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ricardinho Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Ipauanema booed when Itaci was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manoel Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Itaci's Cléberson Freire got control of the ball when Mário Correia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mário Correia came free with the goalkeeper in the 34th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cléberson Freire could save by the left post. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Cléberson Freire successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 40th minute, Dadá Barbosa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Guilherme Donato was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Andrézinho Cerezo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cléberson Freire came out and tried to block the shot, but Andrézinho Cerezo slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 43rd minute.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. César Varela was the one to do the kick off. Mário Correia might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cléberson Freire. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mário Correia ran back to his position shaking his head. If Ricardinho Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. César Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Guilherme Donato having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ricardinho Marinho in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cléberson Freire saved Itaci from getting behind. Ipauanema's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
