In the 7th minute Mateus Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Bastos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Dann in the 16th minute of play forced Norwich Canaries FC's goalkeeper José Maria Bastos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hamílton Almeida could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Mandra Mandrak made a huge save. Mateus Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 27 minutes into the match, Dan Dann had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Maria Bastos. Norwich Canaries FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dan Dann was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 30 minutes into the game, Norwich Canaries FC's Rafa Trevisan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mandra Mandrak made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 33rd minute, Dalmo de Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 37 minutes into the match, Sampaio Corrêa's Mateus Silva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Maria Bastos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rafa Trevisan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mateus Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. José Maria Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Mateus Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mandra Mandrak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafinha Melo in the 47th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mateus Silva to strike the kick off in the second half. In the last second José Maria Bastos throw himself and got hold of the ball when Mateus Silva in the 51stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mateus Silva in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Maria Bastos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mateus Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. José Maria Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Santos in the 57th minute of play forced Norwich Canaries FC's goalkeeper José Maria Bastos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafa Trevisan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mandra Mandrak having to interfere. Hamílton Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Mandra Mandrak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erik Hoffmann during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Sampaio Corrêa booed when Norwich Canaries FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Hoffmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mateus Silva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Maria Bastos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Norwich Canaries FC's zone, Pedro Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Maria Bastos came out of the goal and Pedro Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Maria Bastos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mateus Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Pedro Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Maria Bastos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mateus Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Norwich Canaries FC's José Maria Bastos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Norwich Canaries FC from getting a goal against them. Mateus Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Norwich Canaries FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mateus Silva came free, but José Maria Bastos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 90th minute of the game. One of Norwich Canaries FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sampaio Corrêa:s goal. In the 93rd minute, the referee gave Sampaio Corrêa a penalty. Marcus Eger looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for José Maria Bastos. If Pedro Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sampaio Corrêa's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
