Severino Pereira struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. José Maria Bastos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goias. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Norwich Canaries FC's goalkeeper José Maria Bastos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Goias's Severino Pereira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of José Maria Bastos. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. If Anselmo Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rafa Trevisan charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafa Trevisan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience was convinced that Anselmo Garcia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Maria Bastos was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. André Vasconcelos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafa Trevisan, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. With a little luck, Norwich Canaries FC's José Maria Bastos got control of the ball when Severino Pereira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Goias's Fernandinho Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Severino Pereira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. José Maria Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabrício Vergílio in the 44th minute of play forced Norwich Canaries FC's goalkeeper José Maria Bastos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Goias's André Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafa Trevisan in the 46th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Severino Pereira to strike the kick off in the second half. Severino Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Maria Bastos having to interfere. After 53 played minutes Norwich Canaries FC got a freekick which was hit by Rafinha Melo. In the 58th minute, Severino Pereira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Goias fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. José Maria Bastos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severino Pereira's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. When Severino Pereira came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Goias fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Pereira couldn't finish the play. Hamílton Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rafa Trevisan in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of André Vasconcelos, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 76 minutes into the game, Roberto Brito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Goias's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Norwich Canaries FC the free kick. The supporters of Norwich Canaries FC booed when Goias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hamílton Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Vasconcelos having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Hamílton Almeida got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 85 played minutes Norwich Canaries FC got a freekick which was hit by Remo Madureira. If Severino Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabrício Vergílio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Goias had played much better football throughout.
