The supporters of Sampaio Corrêa booed when Goias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vito Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. André Vasconcelos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mateus Silva went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Sampaio Corrêa's Marcus Eger pulled a muscle in his back after 24 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Mateus Silva hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Pedro Santos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without André Vasconcelos having to make a save. When Frank de Amorim fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Goias's protests and gave Frank de Amorim a yellow card for diving instead. After 36 played minutes Goias got a freekick which was hit by Frank de Amorim. After 40 played minutes Sampaio Corrêa got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Santos. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dan Dann to make the kick off. After 55 played minutes Goias got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Garcia. Mandra Mandrak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabrício Vergílio in the 70th minute of the match. Sampaio Corrêa's Dan Dann got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Severino Pereira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mandra Mandrak was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. 82 minutes into the match, Anselmo Garcia notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Sampaio Corrêa's Mandra Mandrak. Mandra Mandrak was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mandra Mandrak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severino Pereira's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. If Dan Dann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Severino Pereira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mandra Mandrak was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
