The audience was convinced that Ricardinho Freire's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernani Paraibano was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. After 11 played minutes Muirapinima EC got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Hoffmann. Aílton Paraense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Salgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After a rather tough play, Silves SS's Eliézer Dracena got a free kick in the 27th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olavo Loyola in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aílton Paraense saved Silves SS from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nilson Salgado in the 31st managed to get into a good position. After a rather tough play, Muirapinima EC's Dário Gerber got a free kick in the 38th minute. 44 minutes into the game, Olavo Loyola cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Aílton Paraense was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricardinho Freire to make the kick off. After 54 played minutes Silves SS got a freekick which was hit by Oséas de Castro. In the 59th minute there was a penalty for Muirapinima EC. Caetano Nogueira stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Aílton Paraense. 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcelo Costa in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernani Paraibano saved Muirapinima EC from getting behind. In the 68th minute, Zé Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caetano Nogueira, 69 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nilson Salgado in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aílton Paraense saved Silves SS from getting behind. If Marcelo Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nilson Salgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aílton Paraense having to interfere. Arthur Terra hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Nilson Salgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Aílton Paraense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olavo Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aílton Paraense having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilson Salgado in the 89th minute of play forced Silves SS's goalkeeper Aílton Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute, Muirapinima EC's Dário Gerber ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aílton Paraense. Aílton Paraense yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. 98 minutes into the match, Silves SS's goalkeeper Aílton Paraense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olavo Loyola. Muirapinima EC played a much better game than Silves SS and deserved their victory. The Silves SS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
