Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Lúcio Rezende made the kick off which started today's match. 4 minutes into the game, FC Genebra's Felipe Queirós nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lauro Xavier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A collision led to El Otro getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Basílio Oliveira hit a great ball. Felipe Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauro Xavier having to interfere. Arnaldo Oliveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lauro Xavier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Francisco de Castro in the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Arnaldo Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauro Xavier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Felipe Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in El Otro's zone, João Francisco de Castro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lauro Xavier came out of the goal and João Francisco de Castro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Álvaro Pernambucano made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Edgar de Amaral sent off a good shot on target. 33 minutes into the match, FC Genebra's goalkeeper Álvaro Pernambucano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgar de Amaral. João Francisco de Castro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lauro Xavier read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Charles de Queiroz hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. If João Francisco de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacinto Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Felipe Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Genebra's supporters rose to their feet, but Felipe Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lauro Xavier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

FC Genebra's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Francisco de Castro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Lauro Xavier managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when FC Genebra's Felipe Queirós fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 63rd match minute, El Otro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basílio Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 68 minutes, Felipe Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Genebra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felipe Queirós was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
