When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oswaldo Marquez made a kick off. Roberto Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Pedro Pontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aílton Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Dantas having to interfere. In the 58th match minute, Umararituba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Délio Trigo to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Umararituba's zone, Jonathan Fernandes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roberto Velasco came out of the goal and Jonathan Fernandes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Itamonte's Cléberson Matorin got a free kick in the 66th minute. If Aílton Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. In the 82nd minute, Oswaldo Marquez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Umararituba's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Pedro Pontes came free, but Roberto Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Zé Pedro Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 89 played minutes, Itamonte's Ricardo Negri shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Roberto Velasco came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Itamonte reached it. Aílton Barbosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
