Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Ponde's Evaristo Passos started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Epistasio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aloísio Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Luís Eduardo Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Roberto Berger, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. When Romeu de Amorim got free in front of the goal in the 13th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Luís Eduardo Medeiros was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Ponde's Luís Eduardo Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeu de Amorim in the 16th minute of play. After having played for 17 minutes, Zé Roberto Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Epistasio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Roberto Berger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Epistasio's Luís Fernando Cabral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Epistasio from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Ponde's zone, Zé Roberto Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Eduardo Medeiros came out of the goal and Zé Roberto Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Eduardo Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Roberto Berger in the 25th minute of play. After having played for 30 minutes, Vivaldo de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vivaldo de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luís Fernando Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evaristo Passos in the 32nd minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 34th minute of the game. One of Epistasio:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ponde:s goal. Epistasio:s Luís Fernando Cabral showed great skill when he stopped Nico Tavares:s penalty. 37 minutes into the match, Romeu de Amorim notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ponde's Luís Eduardo Medeiros. Luís Eduardo Medeiros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zé Roberto Berger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aloísio Amaral during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ponde booed when Epistasio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aloísio Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The wind increased when Romeu de Amorim made the kick off in the second half. Luís Eduardo Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zé Roberto Berger in the 53rd minute. Zé Roberto Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Luís Eduardo Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Eduardo Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeu de Amorim in the 57th minute of play. Zé Roberto Berger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luís Fernando Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vivaldo de Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 79 in the game by Zé Roberto Berger from a close distance when the talented Luís Eduardo Medeiros managed to make a qualified save. Ponde's players were relieved. Epistasio's Zé Roberto Berger managed to work through Ponde's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Zé Roberto Berger dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Romeu de Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Luís Eduardo Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Eduardo Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilson Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Luís Eduardo Medeiros made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Zé Roberto Berger sent off a good shot on target. Epistasio were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Ponde to leave the ground with a draw.
