It was Gugu Guedes who took care of the corner kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Cauã Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manaparu SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cauã Ferreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donato Branco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Inácio Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cauã Ferreira in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donato Branco saved Surfers from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Armando do Nascimento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Donato Branco was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. After 19 played minutes Manaparu SC got a freekick which was hit by Armando do Nascimento. Luiz Gustavo Pena kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. With a little luck, Manaparu SC's Ronaldo Tasso got control of the ball when Serginho Macedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Armando do Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Donato Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiaguinho Schmidt hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Inácio Teixeira was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Manaparu SC's Armando do Nascimento slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Donato Branco. That made the score 0-1 after 54 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in Surfers's zone, Armando do Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donato Branco came out of the goal and Armando do Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ronaldo Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serginho Macedo in the 61st minute of the match. Donato Branco made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Armando do Nascimento sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Surfers's zone, Armando do Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donato Branco came out of the goal and Armando do Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Armando do Nascimento put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Donato Branco. Cauã Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Donato Branco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cauã Ferreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Surfers's Donato Branco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Surfers from getting a goal against them. Donato Branco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Armando do Nascimento in the 88th minute. If Cauã Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serginho Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute.
