When Cléberson Gerber fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored India EC's protests and gave Cléberson Gerber a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to India EC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Inácio da Fonseca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Romário Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joélson Rezende having to interfere. When Isaltino Veloso came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the India EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isaltino Veloso couldn't finish the play.
