Gaivotas FC's Rodrigo Fonseca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Gaivotas FC from getting a goal against them. Inácio da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Rodrigo Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nestor Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Fonseca having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio da Fonseca in the 15th minute of play forced Gaivotas FC's goalkeeper Rodrigo Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Gaivotas FC booed when Pacovais SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovani Pernambucano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gaivotas FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Inácio da Fonseca 20 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. The supporters of Gaivotas FC booed when Pacovais SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olívio Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ediberto Dracena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joélson Rezende having to make a save. If Alberto Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 26 played minutes Gaivotas FC got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Nascimento. Nestor Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Hortêncio Aparecido's late challenge caught a Pacovais SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Nestor Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pacovais SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Nestor Luz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodrigo Fonseca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nestor Luz ran back to his position shaking his head. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Inácio da Fonseca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joélson Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Dionísio in the 55th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Inácio da Fonseca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rodrigo Fonseca was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Rodrigo Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Luz in the 64th minute of the match. Geovani Pernambucano, 91 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 96th minute, Inácio da Fonseca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pacovais SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Pacovais SS's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
