In the 30thth minute of the game Rômulo Batista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deutschland FC's Berti Mandias was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rômulo Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Berti Mandias having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Bebeto Tavares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Berti Mandias was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Marcelinho Casagrande fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Percy Moraes having to interfere. With 46 minutes on the clock, Mazinho de Sena commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Berti Mandias went to the wrong direction when José Moura was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The supporters of Deutschland FC booed when Ferrete AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamílton Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Berti Mandias made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Rômulo Batista sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Deutschland FC's Júlio Trigo got a free kick in the 70th minute. A collision led to Ferrete AD getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Luiz Gustavo Leal hit a great ball. Berti Mandias made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Rômulo Batista sent off a good shot on target. If Oswaldo Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
