Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tião de Carvalho started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Cassununga EC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Zé Lopes hit a great ball. Anísio Bueno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustão Pombal in the 7th minute of the match. With his leg Rodriguinho Marinho managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when Cassununga EC's Luiz Fábio Arósio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gaivota fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 13th minute. Penalty! Adrianinho Soares shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Faustão Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 20 played minutes Cassununga EC got a freekick which was hit by Bruninho Bueno. After having played for 21 minutes, Hélio Galvão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gaivota's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hélio Galvão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Gaivota's Faustão Pombal in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cassununga EC's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustão Pombal in the 24th minute of play forced Cassununga EC's goalkeeper Anísio Bueno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gaivota's Jaime Cavalcante got his second yellow card of the match in the 26th minute. The referee ordered Jaime Cavalcante off the ground. Jaime Cavalcante kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 28thth minute of the game Tião de Carvalho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gaivota's Rodriguinho Marinho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Cassununga EC booed when Gaivota was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caco Figueiredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tião de Carvalho might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodriguinho Marinho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tião de Carvalho ran back to his position shaking his head. When Léo Vianna fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gaivota's protests and gave Léo Vianna a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th minute, Léo Vianna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Hélio Galvão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anísio Bueno was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Pedro Motta hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Cassununga EC's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 43rd minute of the game, when Adrianinho Soares after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Gaivota's goal. Adrianinho Soares was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Gaivota's goal looked a bit too open when Tião de Carvalho came free, but Rodriguinho Marinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Cassununga EC's Anísio Bueno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélio Galvão in the 55th minute of play. In the 55th minute, Zé Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hélio Galvão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Anísio Bueno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Léo Vianna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 60 minutes, Zé Lopes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cassununga EC and the Gaivota players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 61st match minute, Cassununga EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Lopes to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Cassununga EC's zone, Hélio Galvão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anísio Bueno came out of the goal and Hélio Galvão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Caco Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hélio Galvãos short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Anísio Bueno to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Tião de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Zé Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, Cassununga EC's goalkeeper Anísio Bueno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hélio Galvão. After some careless play in the Cassununga EC defense, Hélio Galvão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anísio Bueno. The Cassununga EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anísio Bueno should have stopped the shot. Hélio Galvão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Caco Figueiredo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Tião de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho Marinho having to interfere. The Cassununga EC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Gaivota were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
