If Sebastião Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedé Coutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Enio Castro hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Adelino Recife managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sabao's supporters rose to their feet, but Adelino Recife was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Prata breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Imaculada FC's Humberto Braga got a free kick in the 9th minute. Jonathan Prata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilson do Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After 18 minutes Imaculada FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Adelino Recife who took care of the corner kick. Sabao's Adelino Recife was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Prata in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to Sabao getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Geovani Borges hit a great ball. Imaculada FC's Enio Castro shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 21st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Paulo Netto but with some difficulty. In the 21st minute, Geovani Borges hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dedé Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Netto having to interfere. Sabao's Paulo Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeca Koehler in the 25th minute of play. Paulo Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedé Coutinho in the 28th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Dedé Coutinho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Paulo Netto. The goal made the score 1-0. Geovani Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Jonathan Prata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dedé Coutinho was the one to do the kick off. Dedé Coutinho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Netto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. After 64 played minutes Sabao got a freekick which was hit by Diogo Messias. When Adelino Recife fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sabao's protests and gave Adelino Recife a yellow card for diving instead. Jonathan Prata made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Osvaldinho Vinhas sent off a good shot on target. Osvaldinho Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Imaculada FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Sabao for much of the match.
