Rabelo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Universität Dresden the free kick. A collision led to Rabelo getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. In the 15th minute Josué de Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvério Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 17 played minutes Universität Dresden got a freekick which was hit by Genílson Diniz. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elói Faria in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Samuel de Queirós prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Samuel de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elói Faria in the 26th minute of the match. The supporters of Rabelo booed when Universität Dresden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexandre Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Silvério Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elói Faria made a kick off. Josué de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Josué de Alcântara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Silvério Garcia was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. In the 85th minute, Alexandre Messias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Josué de Alcântara took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Silvério Garcia. Silvério Garcia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Rabelo's Luís Fabiano Costa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Samuel de Queirós. That made the score 1-3 after 95 minutes of play. Chants of Rabelo echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Universität Dresden had held the ball for most of the match.
