Yuri Perez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Doriva Pires's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. Hugo de Godoy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, Veiga's goalkeeper Toninho Cearense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dorian Ceresso. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Toninho Cearense successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Evaristo Hermes charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evaristo Hermes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 22nd minute, Evaristo Hermes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yuri Perez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Eduardo Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Sena in the 27th minute of play forced Araguaiana's goalkeeper Yuri Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute Tião Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yuri Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Sena in the 30th minute of play forced Araguaiana's goalkeeper Yuri Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Tião Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Veiga's supporters rose to their feet, but Tião Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yuri Perez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hugo de Godoy kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 40th minute Hugo de Godoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toninho Cearense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, Artur Proença was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Veiga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Araguaiana the free kick. A collision led to Veiga getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Artur Proença hit a great ball. Douglas da Silva hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half Veiga were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Doriva Pires to make the kick off. If Hugo de Godoy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dorian Ceresso struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Toninho Cearense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Araguaiana. Veiga's Doriva Pires got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Veiga booed when Araguaiana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Paulo Paranaense didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doriva Pires in the 65th minute of play forced Araguaiana's goalkeeper Yuri Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute, Doriva Pires got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tião Senas short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Yuri Perez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 74th minute Dorian Ceresso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toninho Cearense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Eduardo Simão during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Luís Eduardo Simão kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Toninho Cearense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorian Ceresso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dorian Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Toninho Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dorian Ceresso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toninho Cearense having to interfere. Araguaiana's Yuri Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doriva Pires in the 94th minute of play. The Araguaiana supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Veiga's performance. The match ended with a win for Veiga.
