Agostinho Nunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percy Esteves in the 11th minute of play. After 13 minutes, Wiliam Recife mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Araguatins SS and the Alcobaca SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Araguatins SS's Wiliam Recife got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 18th minute, Hermínio França got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Genílson Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Haroldo da Cunha in the 20th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Araguatins SS's zone, Percy Esteves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agostinho Nunes came out of the goal and Percy Esteves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Válter Abraão hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Araguatins SS's Haroldo da Cunha got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nicolas Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Agostinho Nunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Genílson Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haroldo da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Genílson Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo da Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Araguatins SS's Hermínio França got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Percy Esteves struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Agostinho Nunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alcobaca SS. When Hermínio França fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Araguatins SS's protests and gave Hermínio França a yellow card for diving instead. If Nicolas Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st match minute, Alcobaca SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basílio Arruda to maneuver through the defense. Hermínio França struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Genílson Salles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Araguatins SS. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Hermínio França managed to get in a good position for a shot. Araguatins SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermínio França was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Genílson Salles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Alcobaca SS's Felipe Koehler got a free kick in the 68th minute. Hermínio França might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Genílson Salles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hermínio França ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 73 minutes, Hermínio França managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Araguatins SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermínio França was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Haroldo da Cunha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Genílson Salles was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Araguatins SS's Hermínio Dracena couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 84th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Alcobaca SS. When Basílio Arruda fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alcobaca SS's protests and gave Basílio Arruda a yellow card for diving instead. If Haroldo da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
