The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jaime Mattos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago Catarinense having to interfere. Jaime Mattos kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Mattos in the 11th minute of play forced Pitombeira SS's goalkeeper Thiago Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 12 played minutes Gelo got a freekick which was hit by Lucas do Vale. In the 15th minute, Tiago Gabriel Ferraz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jaime Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st match minute, Pitombeira SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cipriano Pontes to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th match minute, Gelo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danilo Vinhas to maneuver through the defense. After 28 played minutes, Pitombeira SS's Lauro Queiroz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luís Fábio dos Santos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pitombeira SS reached it. Tiago Gabriel Ferraz struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Thiago Catarinense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gelo. The audience was convinced that Jaime Mattos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Catarinense was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Thiago Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiago Gabriel Ferraz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jaime Mattos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Thiago Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Jaime Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiago Gabriel Ferraz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Jaime Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gelo's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Mattos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thiago Catarinense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jaime Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute, Adolfo Cabral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute, Marcinho Netto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 80 minutes, Tiago Gabriel Ferraz made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Pitombeira SS's Thiago Catarinense tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Jaime Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 89th minute, Jaime Mattos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tiago Gabriel Ferraz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Dênis Galvão took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Thiago Catarinense to make any attempt to save it. The Pitombeira SS fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Gelo were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
