José Ribeiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Afonsinho Vaz went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Dacabi booed when Tapiratiba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Eduardo Paraense didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Baltazar Maia during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Tapiratiba FC's Eugênio Saldanha in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Sérgio Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Ribeiro having to interfere. Sérgio Ortiz might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Ribeiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sérgio Ortiz ran back to his position shaking his head. The Tapiratiba FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Dacabi were winning 0-2.

José Ribeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sérgio Ortiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute Dadá Ceresso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sandrinho de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the match, Tapiratiba FC's Sandrinho de Carvalho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Laércio Oliveira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Tapiratiba FC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Eurico Baptista hit a great ball. Afonsinho Vaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. José Ribeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Dacabi's Sérgio Ortiz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of José Ribeiro. That made the score 0-3 after 69 minutes of play. If Afonsinho Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonsinho Vaz struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. José Ribeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dacabi. In the 82nd match minute, Tapiratiba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Eduardo Paraense to maneuver through the defense. Laércio Oliveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandrinho de Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After 91 minutes, Eurico Baptista mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tapiratiba FC and the Dacabi players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 94 minutes of play Tapiratiba FC's Luís Eduardo Paraense was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Dacabi's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
