The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alkis Papaefthimiou recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Rômulo Guimarães was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Paru AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chicão Mello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Lamacre AD's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Secco came free, but Cristóvão Moreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute, Claudinei Reis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match was over Paru AD could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lamacre AD throughout the match.
