Ramón Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Juarês Fantini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardinho Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bernardinho Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juarês Fantini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramón Mesquita in the 13th minute of play. Bernardinho Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Sidney Donatello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sidney Donatello made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Bernardinho Borges sent off a good shot on target. After 23 played minutes Deodoro SS got a freekick which was hit by Márcio Alvarenga. If Raphael Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 28 played minutes, Itatiaia FC's André Luiz Vinhas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Juarês Fantini came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Itatiaia FC reached it. Ramón Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juarês Fantini having to interfere. After 45 played minutes Itatiaia FC got a freekick which was hit by Eurico Tavares. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Bernardinho Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deodoro SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardinho Borges was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sidney Donatello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luís Eduardo Monteiro to strike the kick off in the second half. With his leg Juarês Fantini managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when Itatiaia FC's Ramón Mesquita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tadeu Macedo kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. If Ramón Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sidney Donatello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Eduardo Monteiro in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 66th minute, Raphael Faria fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Sidney Donatello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Eduardo Monteiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 80thth minute of the game Bernardinho Borges who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itatiaia FC's Sidney Donatello was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Itatiaia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Eduardo Monteiro came free, but Sidney Donatello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the game, Celsinho Coelho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itatiaia FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deodoro SS the free kick. In the 86th minute, Celsinho Coelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Deodoro SS's Juarês Fantini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Deodoro SS from getting a goal against them.
