Pacatiba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eureca the free kick. In the 12th match minute, Pacatiba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nando Travassos to maneuver through the defense. Luís Fabiano Faria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Cerezo in the 18th minute of the match. When Arnaldo Fernandes fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Eureca's protests and gave Arnaldo Fernandes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Eureca getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Arnaldo Fernandes hit a great ball. Carlos Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oséas Teles hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. When Jean Cerezo, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 33 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Luís Fabiano Faria was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Jean Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Carlos Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Luís Garcia having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlos Queiroz to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Eureca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Dante to maneuver through the defense. Luís Fabiano Faria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean Cerezo, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Pacatiba's José Carlos Sampaio got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Pacatiba's Sílvio Luís Garcia threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Carlos Queiroz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Luís Fabiano Faria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean Cerezo, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. José Carlos Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Carlos Sampaio got free with Sílvio Luís Garcia in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luís Fabiano Faria came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Eureca's Jean Cerezo. But to his dismay, Jean Cerezo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. José Carlos Sampaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Sílvio Luís Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Carlos Sampaio struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Sílvio Luís Garcia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pacatiba. Oswaldo Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fabiano Faria having to interfere. Carlos Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Luís Garcia having to interfere. After having played for 92 minutes, José Carlos Sampaio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pacatiba's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Carlos Sampaio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sílvio Luís Garcia stood somewhat misplaced when José Carlos Sampaio came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 94 minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
