In the 23rd minute, Otávio Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, Cajazeira SC's goal looked a bit too open when Genílson Valadares came free, but Bebeto Netto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Marquinhos Pinho came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Gotas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marquinhos Pinho couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Cajazeira SC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Severino Barros hit a great ball. In the 34th minute, Marquinhos Pinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gerson Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathias Motta in the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Genílson Valadares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Geovânio Ortiz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gotas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cajazeira SC the free kick. The supporters of Cajazeira SC booed when Gotas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovânio Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Cajazeira SC's Bebeto Netto got control of the ball when Fernando Domingues tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mathias Motta's late challenge caught a Gotas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mathias Motta helped the player get up and apologised. With his leg Bebeto Netto managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Gotas's Fernando Domingues fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Bebeto Netto made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Fernando Domingues sent off a good shot on target. Franklin Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Gotas booed when Cajazeira SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valério Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cajazeira SC's Bebeto Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genílson Valadares in the 91st minute of play. Danilo Pimenta, 94 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 96 minutes into the match, Cajazeira SC's goalkeeper Bebeto Netto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernando Domingues. Gotas's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
