An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Paulo Terra in the 4th minute of play forced Lagoao's goalkeeper Benjamin Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Tiros's Fábio Lira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benjamin Rodrigues narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Betinho Vidal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Acácio Queirós having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvaldo Castro in the 14th minute of play forced Tiros's goalkeeper Acácio Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Tiros getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Renan Vinhas hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the match, Tiros's goal looked a bit too open when Edvaldo Castro came free, but Acácio Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Acácio Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adelino Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 22 played minutes Lagoao got a freekick which was hit by Armando Schmidt. Danilo Mendonça, 23 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 29th minute, Adelino Cruz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luiz Paulo Terra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Acácio Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adelino Cruz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Adelino Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Lagoao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adelino Cruz couldn't finish the play. 45 minutes into the match, Adelino Cruz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Acácio Queirós. Tiros's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adelino Cruz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After the first half Lagoao were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A hard shot 60 in the game by Adelino Cruz from a close distance when the talented Acácio Queirós managed to make a qualified save. Tiros's players were relieved. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gildo Jacinto during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lagoao's Humberto Leme shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 62nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Acácio Queirós but with some difficulty. After 76 minutes, Moisés Passos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lagoao and the Tiros players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 76th minute, Moisés Passos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 77 minutes into the match, Tiros's Danilo Mendonça broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Acácio Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edvaldo Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edvaldo Castro in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Acácio Queirós saved Tiros from getting behind. In the 87th minute, Renan Vinhas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Acácio Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edvaldo Castro in the 92nd minute of play. When the match was over Lagoao could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tiros throughout the match.
