Commandatuba's Natanael Palmeira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Commandatuba from getting a goal against them. After 15 played minutes Commandatuba got a freekick which was hit by João Francisco Coelho. 16 minutes into the match, Vacacai's goal looked a bit too open when Eriberto Severo came free, but Wilson Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Commandatuba getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Armindo Meira hit a great ball. Zé Carlos Vianna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luís Fabiano Proença recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. After 24th play minutes Luís Fabiano Proença shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Natanael Palmeira and just under the crossbar into goal. Vacacai's Wilson Cardoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armindo Meira in the 42nd minute of play. When Zé Carlos Vianna came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Vacacai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Carlos Vianna couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luís Fabiano Proença made a kick off. Zé Carlos Vianna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Natanael Palmeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Fabiano Proença struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Natanael Palmeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vacacai. In the 62ndth minute of the game Luís Fabiano Proença who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Commandatuba's Natanael Palmeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Commandatuba getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Armindo Meira hit a great ball. Eriberto Severo's late challenge caught a Vacacai's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Fabiano Proença in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Natanael Palmeira saved Commandatuba from getting behind. 69 minutes into the match, Vacacai's goalkeeper Wilson Cardoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Telmo Gomes. Armindo Meira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Natanael Palmeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fabiano Proença in the 78th minute of the match. Natanael Palmeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Carlos Vianna, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Eriberto Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Cardoso having to interfere. After having played for 90 minutes, Zé Carlos Vianna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vacacai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Carlos Vianna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zé Carlos Vianna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Natanael Palmeira having to make a save. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Vacacai fully deserved thier win.
