Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dalmo Moreira started the match with the kick off. 6 minutes into the match, Canastrao SS's goal looked a bit too open when Dalmo Moreira came free, but José Pedro Novaes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Sidnei Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Canastrao SS booed when Negros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidnei Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Negros's Dalmo Moreira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of José Pedro Novaes. That made the score 1-0 after 10 minutes of play. In the 18thth minute of the game Dráuzio Montenegro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Negros's Enéas Pitta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sidnei Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pedro Novaes having to interfere. Dalmo Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pedro Novaes having to interfere. A collision led to Canastrao SS getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Eliézer Teixeira hit a great ball. If Sidnei Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Negros's Enéas Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dráuzio Montenegro in the 32nd minute of play. Enéas Pitta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Víktor Ferreira in the 38th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dráuzio Montenegro was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmo Moreira in the 54th minute of play forced Canastrao SS's goalkeeper José Pedro Novaes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Negros's Sidnei Torres sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Pedro Novaes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 59th minute Sidnei Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Pedro Novaes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enéas Pitta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráuzio Montenegro in the 95th minute of play forced Negros's goalkeeper Enéas Pitta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Negros had won after a very even match.
