Moisés Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Tostão Pitta came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Itiquira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tostão Pitta couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Botelho in the 15th minute of play forced Urubuzada FC's goalkeeper Moisés Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 17 played minutes Urubuzada FC got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Ribeiro. After a rather tough play, Urubuzada FC's Vitinho Marquez got a free kick in the 25th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moisés Goiano in the 29th minute of play forced Itiquira's goalkeeper Jerônimo Mandrak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ernesto Botelho struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Moisés Ferraz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itiquira. Tostão Pitta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Moisés Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vitinho Marquez was shown his second yellow card after 33 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Vitinho Marquez hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 37th minute of the match Arí Duarte shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Moisés Ferraz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tostão Pitta might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Moisés Ferraz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tostão Pitta ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tostão Pitta to make the kick off. The supporters of Urubuzada FC booed when Itiquira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vânderson Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute, Ademar Severo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jerônimo Mandrak was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 66th minute, Ernesto Botelho made a precise shot to the right of Moisés Ferraz. Urubuzada FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. 71 minutes into the match, Urubuzada FC's goalkeeper Moisés Ferraz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernesto Botelho. Urubuzada FC's Moisés Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tostão Pitta in the 72nd minute of play. Urubuzada FC's Moisés Ferraz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Urubuzada FC from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tostão Pitta in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Moisés Ferraz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After taking down the ball on Itiquira's corner Dadá Marquez fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Moisés Ferraz quite easily take care of the ball. Moisés Goiano kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st minute of the match Dadá Marquez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Moisés Ferraz skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 82 minutes, Ernesto Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itiquira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Itiquira's Tostão Pitta got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Moisés Ferraz was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Tostão Pitta capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tostão Pitta really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. A collision led to Itiquira getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Vânderson Reis hit a great ball. An unexpected shot in the 94th minute by Ernesto Botelho got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
