Cesinha Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Leal having to interfere. In the 8thth minute of the game Juan Gaspar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brococo's Luiz Fábio Mesquita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Túlio Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ciro Leal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betinho Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Mariom EC booed when Brococo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidnei Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Evandro de Andrade took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luiz Fábio Mesquita. Brococo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Betinho Paraibano struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Ciro Leal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brococo. After having played for 21 minutes, Betinho Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brococo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betinho Paraibano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sidnei Monteiro charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sidnei Monteiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sidnei Monteiro kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After having played for 23 minutes, Túlio Vinhas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juan Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Luiz Fábio Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Fábio Mesquita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Túlio Vinhas in the 39th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Túlio Vinhas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Brococo getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Luciano Azevedo hit a great ball. Túlio Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ciro Leal came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Brococo's Betinho Paraibano. But to his dismay, Betinho Paraibano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 60th minute, Carlos Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Betinho Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Leal having to interfere. Ciro Leal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Betinho Paraibano's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Betinho Paraibano in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ciro Leal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 68th minute, Jorginho Negri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ciro Leal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betinho Paraibano in the 69th minute of the match. Mariom EC's Ciro Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cesinha Barbosa in the 84th minute of play. Juan Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fábio Mesquita having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Brococo's zone, Túlio Vinhas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Fábio Mesquita came out of the goal and Túlio Vinhas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
