The supporters of Corisco SS booed when Aricobe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton Zanette didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aricobe FC's Lauro Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelardo Veiga in the 8th minute of play. Ediberto Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauro Catarinense having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Corisco SS's goalkeeper Ronaldão de Souza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hermínio Teixeira. Ronaldão de Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elivélton Zanette in the 18th minute of the match. After having played for 22 minutes, Ediberto Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corisco SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ediberto Mendes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Jaime Saldanha fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corisco SS's protests and gave Jaime Saldanha a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Corisco SS's Jaime Saldanha got a free kick in the 25th minute. Ronaldão de Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elivélton Zanette in the 26th minute of play. In the 29th minute of the game, Abelardo Veiga landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 29 minutes, Anselmo Prado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aricobe FC and the Corisco SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Aricobe FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Anselmo Prado hit a great ball. Tomás Proença kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. With a little luck, Corisco SS's Ronaldão de Souza got control of the ball when Benjamin Negri tried to sneak it across the goal line. A hard shot by Vágner Tepedino from long distance, 37 minutes into the match, got Ronaldão de Souza's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Ediberto Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute Ediberto Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauro Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Aricobe FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
