Rodriguinho de Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean de Godoy in the 7th minute of play. Igor Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho de Salles having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eriberto Teixeira during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Eriberto Teixeira hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the game, Ernesto Netto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Philadelphia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zelia SC the free kick. In the 26th minute, Betão Trancoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the match, Zelia SC's goal looked a bit too open when Cleiton Duarte came free, but Clóvis Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maicon Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clóvis Queiroz having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Zelia SC's goal looked a bit too open when Luciano Zanette came free, but Clóvis Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luciano Zanette in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clóvis Queiroz saved Zelia SC from getting behind. 37 minutes into the match, Maicon Mineiro notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Zelia SC's Clóvis Queiroz. Clóvis Queiroz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Igor Saldanha struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Rodriguinho de Salles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zelia SC. In the 47th minute, Carlos Eduardo Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maicon Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clóvis Queiroz having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luciano Zanette stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Vladimir Saraiva fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zelia SC's protests and gave Vladimir Saraiva a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th match minute, Zelia SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimir Saraiva to maneuver through the defense. 55 minutes into the match, Philadelphia's Maicon Mineiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Clóvis Queiroz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Igor Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zelia SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Igor Saldanha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodriguinho de Salles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Philadelphia's Rodriguinho de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Igor Saldanha in the 91st minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Igor Saldanha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Zelia SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Maicon Mineiro's late challenge caught a Zelia SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maicon Mineiro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 96th minute, Maicon Mineiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 97th minute, Igor Saldanha made a precise shot to the right of Rodriguinho de Salles. Philadelphia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1.
