The audience thought a goal was coming when José Paulo do Valle got free with Valério Toledo in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in E. C. Baixada's zone, José Paulo do Valle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valério Toledo came out of the goal and José Paulo do Valle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 11th minute Raphael Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basílio Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 11 minutes, Cido da Rocha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tombador and the E. C. Baixada players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Tombador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cido da Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adrianinho de Alcântara in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basílio Marquez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Baixada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raphael Fernandes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Baixada's Dedé de Castro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Basílio Marquez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in E. C. Baixada reached it. Basílio Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrianinho de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute, Raphael Fernandes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Raphael Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The penalty shot was made by Tiaguinho Freitas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tombador's Basílio Marquez. 0-1. 39 minutes into the match, Adrianinho de Alcântara had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Basílio Marquez. Tombador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adrianinho de Alcântara was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 44th minute, Cido da Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Vítor Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valério Toledo having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Valério Toledo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. In the 89th minute José Vítor Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valério Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
