The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valdo Netto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Durval Melo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valdo Netto. BarnabeFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Durval Melo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 10th play minutes Durval Melo shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Valdo Netto and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 13th minute, Frederico Rosado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 16 minutes into the game, Sílvio Luís Castro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Joaquim Sabóia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 19th minute José Maria Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Sabóia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquim Sabóia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luís Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Durval Melo in the 21st play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Valdo Netto kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 3-1 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Los Bacanas F.C.'s Frederico Rosado got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 35 played minutes Los Bacanas F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Frederico Rosado. With an all-out effort, Los Bacanas F.C.'s Valdo Netto threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Durval Melo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Frederico Rosado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Valdo Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Los Bacanas F.C. defense, José Maria Meireles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquim Sabóia. The Los Bacanas F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquim Sabóia should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 3-3 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

BarnabeFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Maria Meireles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Basílio Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Valdo Netto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frederico Rosado went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 5-5 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Durval Melo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdo Netto was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. In the 87th minute, Frederico Rosado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Bacanas F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-5. Durval Melo might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valdo Netto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Durval Melo ran back to his position shaking his head. Joaquim Sabóia didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 96th minute, which inside left pole to 6-6. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the BarnabeFC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
