With his leg Valdemar Pitta managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Congonhas's Válbson Leite fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 22nd minute, Congonhas's Válbson Leite ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Valdemar Pitta. Valdemar Pitta yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilian Zilles in the 30th managed to get into a good position. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When Rubinho Tinoco came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Congonhas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubinho Tinoco couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Congonhas booed when DRACARYS F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonel Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valdemar Pitta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Válbson Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. When Congonhas's Válbson Leite in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye DRACARYS F. C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Válbson Leite might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valdemar Pitta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Válbson Leite ran back to his position shaking his head. If Válbson Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Wilian Zilles made a precise shot to the right of Valdemar Pitta. DRACARYS F. C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. After having played for 74 minutes, Wilian Zilles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Congonhas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilian Zilles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Válbson Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot. Congonhas's supporters rose to their feet, but Válbson Leite was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdemar Pitta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wilian Zilles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 82nd minute Wilian Zilles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdemar Pitta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Válbson Leite struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Valdemar Pitta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Congonhas. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilian Zilles in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdemar Pitta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Válbson Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Válbson Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Wilian Zilles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
