Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Wilian Zilles started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Wilian Zilles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Congonhas's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilian Zilles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurinho Guedes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 4th minute Válbson Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurinho Guedes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edinho Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciro da Fonseca in the 8th minute of play. Edinho Martins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro da Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Edinho Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro da Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Válbson Leite in the 13th minute of play forced Meneghetti FC's goalkeeper Maurinho Guedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Válbson Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Maurinho Guedes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edinho Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciro da Fonseca in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th minute Wilian Zilles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurinho Guedes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ciro da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilian Zilles might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maurinho Guedes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilian Zilles ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Congonhas's Rubinho Tinoco got a free kick in the 28th minute. When Ciro da Fonseca got free in front of the goal in the 31st minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Edinho Martins was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Congonhas's zone, João Paulo Paranaense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edinho Martins came out of the goal and João Paulo Paranaense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristóvão Arruda kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ciro da Fonseca to make the kick off. A collision led to Congonhas getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Carlos Augusto Penha hit a great ball. In the 57th minute, Egídio de Sousa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Meneghetti FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. If Ciro da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 63 played minutes Congonhas got a freekick which was hit by Dito Vidal. In the 68th minute, Wilian Zilles fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Maurinho Guedes, passed just outside the right post. A collision led to Meneghetti FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Arnaldo Breckenfeld hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Egídio de Sousa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edinho Martins was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Ciro da Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edinho Martins having to interfere. 91 minutes into the game, Egídio de Sousa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Edinho Martins was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ciro da Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Meneghetti FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Congonhas had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
