Dráuzio Bertassi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lajeiro. Cássio de Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Dráuzio Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 31 played minutes Carualina got a freekick which was hit by Sidney Neiva. With an all-out effort, Carualina's Ismael Soeiro threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eurico de Amaral, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 41 minutes into the match, Enio Marinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ismael Soeiro. Lajeiro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enio Marinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. If Enio Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cássio de Senna to make the kick off. 65 minutes into the game, Carualina's Enio Marinho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ismael Soeiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Enio Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute.
