After having played for 3 minutes, Túlio Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abobral's supporters crossed their fingers, but Túlio Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Corinthians Paulista's goalkeeper Sílvio Luiz Braga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 6th match minute, Corinthians Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serafim Tróia to maneuver through the defense. When Túlio Seco came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Abobral fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Túlio Seco couldn't finish the play. In the 11thth minute of the game Jorginho Mangueira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Corinthians Paulista's Sílvio Luiz Braga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 11th minute, Serafim Tróia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute, André Luís Zanette hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Vítor Cerezo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norberto Simões in the 21st minute of the match. Dino de Sousa charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dino de Sousa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute, Dino de Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Túlio Seco got free with Sílvio Luiz Braga in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd minute, Abobral's Jorginho Mangueira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Carlos Eduardo Sampaio hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Abobral's João Vítor Cerezo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dino de Sousa in the 44th minute of play. Túlio Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Jorginho Mangueira made the kick off in the second half. Sílvio Luiz Braga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laerte Magalhães in the 57th minute of the match. In the 59th minute, Jorginho Mangueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dino de Sousa struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. João Vítor Cerezo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corinthians Paulista. Jorginho Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Sílvio Luiz Braga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Corinthians Paulista's Sílvio Luiz Braga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho Mangueira in the 72nd minute of play. Corinthians Paulista's Dino de Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Corinthians Paulista's zone, Túlio Seco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sílvio Luiz Braga came out of the goal and Túlio Seco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st minute, Jorginho Mangueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorginho Mangueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Luiz Braga having to interfere. There was no doubt that Abobral were the better team. Abobral's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
