In the 11th minute, Nilson de Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Ronaldinho Carioca in the 12th minute really tested Rob Dohnanyi's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The audience was convinced that Alessio Prisco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wesley de Queirós was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. The supporters of Luverdence E.C. booed when Japira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raúl Teles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jailson de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rob Dohnanyi having to interfere. After 53 played minutes Luverdence E.C. got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Lopez. Wesley de Queirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alessio Prisco's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. The Luverdence E.C. fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when Luverdence E.C.'s Alessio Prisco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Raúl Teles hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jailson de Barros in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rob Dohnanyi saved Luverdence E.C. from getting behind. Rob Dohnanyi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Váldson Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 76 minutes of play Luverdence E.C.'s Basílio Lopez was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Alessio Prisco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Alessio Prisco fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The supporters of Japira booed when Luverdence E.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessio Prisco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luverdence E.C. played a much better game than Japira and deserved their victory. The Japira players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
