Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Caco Tavares started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the match, Váldson Borges notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Cateto's Filipe de Amorim. Filipe de Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Caco Tavares came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Cateto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caco Tavares couldn't finish the play. Egídio Nóbrega hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Fernando da Costa scored 1-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wesley de Queirós, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fernando da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Wesley de Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Japira getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Raúl Teles hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Caco Tavares in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wesley de Queirós saved Japira from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Japira's zone, Fernando da Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wesley de Queirós came out of the goal and Fernando da Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Váldson Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe de Amorim having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Jailson de Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wesley de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caco Tavares in the 37th minute of play. Jailson de Barros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Filipe de Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Váldson Borges stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jailson de Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fernando da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Wesley de Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geovanni Barros hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 58th minute Caco Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wesley de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Egídio Nóbrega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ciro Cruz's late challenge caught a Cateto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ciro Cruz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 73rd match minute, Japira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Cruz to maneuver through the defense. Fernando da Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 78thth minute of the game Caco Tavares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Japira's Wesley de Queirós was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Japira booed when Cateto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caco Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filipe de Amorim acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 89th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ronaldinho Carioca. Váldson Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Filipe de Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cateto's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
