Vladimir Pitta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Edgar Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute Adhemar Bittencourt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Itamonte EC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Moisés da Fonseca hit a great ball. Vladimir Pitta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Edgar Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 24 minutes, Vladimir Pitta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cerco SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladimir Pitta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Francisco de Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Jorginho da Fonseca had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgar Quirino. Itamonte EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorginho da Fonseca was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 31st minute, Moisés da Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 35 minutes into the match, Itamonte EC's goal looked a bit too open when Jorginho da Fonseca came free, but Edgar Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorginho da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Edgar Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgar Quirino came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Cerco SS's Vladimir Pitta. But to his dismay, Vladimir Pitta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Adhemar Bittencourt came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Itamonte EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adhemar Bittencourt couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Itamonte EC booed when Cerco SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo José Moreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 48 minutes into the game, when Claudinei Alvarenga put in a rough tackle. After 48 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Itamonte EC! The referee gave Cerco SS a penalty, 51 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Caetano Souto, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Itamonte EC's Edgar Quirino. 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Jorginho da Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Edgar Quirino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cerco SS. 67 minutes in the game, Jorginho da Fonseca fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Edgar Quirino having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorginho da Fonseca in the 67th minute of play forced Itamonte EC's goalkeeper Edgar Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 68 played minutes Itamonte EC got a freekick which was hit by Albertino Rocha. Ricardinho Munhoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Vladimir Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorginho da Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Quirino having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vladimir Pitta got free with Edgar Quirino in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Durval Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Jorginho da Fonseca came up free with the goalie in the 102nd minute, the Cerco SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorginho da Fonseca couldn't finish the play. Cerco SS's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
