The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 minutes, Jean Pimenta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pantanal Futebol Clube and the Cerco SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Cerco SS's Jorginho da Fonseca in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pantanal Futebol Clube's goalie prevented a goal. Jorginho da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Geovânio Albuquerque tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Pantanal Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Geovânio Albuquerque had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vladimir Pitta. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pantanal Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Geovânio Albuquerque, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Vladimir Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cido França fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pantanal Futebol Clube's protests and gave Cido França a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st match minute, Pantanal Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cido França to maneuver through the defense. Jorginho da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Geovânio Albuquerque tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cerco SS's zone, Anderson Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Luz came out of the goal and Anderson Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anderson Abreu scored 1-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernando Luz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Geovânio Albuquerque made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Vladimir Pitta sent off a good shot on target. In the 39th minute, Pantanal Futebol Clube's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Vladimir Pitta fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jorginho da Fonseca in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Geovânio Albuquerque saved Pantanal Futebol Clube from getting behind. After 42 played minutes, Cerco SS's Edu Dias shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Geovânio Albuquerque came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cerco SS reached it. Jorginho da Fonseca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geovânio Albuquerque read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. If Vladimir Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Jorginho da Fonseca made the kick off in the second half. Jorginho da Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cido França hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimir Pitta in the 54th minute of play forced Pantanal Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Geovânio Albuquerque to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Cerco SS getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Ricardinho Munhoz hit a great ball. When Cerco SS's Jorginho da Fonseca in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pantanal Futebol Clube's goalie prevented a goal. When Adalberto Breckenfeld fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cerco SS's protests and gave Adalberto Breckenfeld a yellow card for diving instead. In the 60th minute, Adalberto Breckenfeld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anderson Abreu in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernando Luz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Geovânio Albuquerque showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladimir Pitta, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Jorginho da Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Geovânio Albuquerque didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cerco SS. In the 72nd minute of the match Caetano Souto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Geovânio Albuquerque showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jorginho da Fonseca might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geovânio Albuquerque. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jorginho da Fonseca ran back to his position shaking his head. Ricardinho Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovânio Albuquerque having to interfere. In the 78thth minute of the game Jorginho da Fonseca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pantanal Futebol Clube's Geovânio Albuquerque was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Vladimir Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute Vladimir Pitta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovânio Albuquerque saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorginho da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Geovânio Albuquerque tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
