After a defensive mix-up in Parurus SS's zone, Luís Fabiano Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joélson das Neves came out of the goal and Luís Fabiano Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 24 minutes into the match, Mirandinha's Abelardo Faria sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joélson das Neves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luís Fabiano Amorim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joélson das Neves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute Enio de Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arsenio Jordy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Luís Fabiano Amorim kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joélson das Neves. That made the score 1-0 in the 33 minute of play. Arsenio Jordy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enio de Castro in the 38th minute of the match. Arsenio Jordy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valério Veloso in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Enio de Castro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Arsenio Jordy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
After a rather tough play, Mirandinha's Carlos Fernando Brasil got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Jorge Machado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enio de Castro got free with Arsenio Jordy in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 56th minute of the match, Flavinho Quirino tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arsenio Jordy saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Parurus SS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jorge Machado in the 59th minute. Mirandinha's Arsenio Jordy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Mirandinha from getting a goal against them. Perivaldo Vianna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arsenio Jordy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play.
