Rony Barbosa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Benedito Vasconcelos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edu Zilles in the 9th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Giovanni Cavalcante took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Benedito Vasconcelos to make any attempt to save it. After a defensive mix-up in Sapecada's zone, João Paulo Freire stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benedito Vasconcelos came out of the goal and João Paulo Freire tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benedito Vasconcelos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giovanni Cavalcante in the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Eugênio Novaes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rony Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the game, Zézinho Paulista was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sapecada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guida SS the free kick. A collision led to Sapecada getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Zézinho Paulista hit a great ball. Benedito Vasconcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giovanni Cavalcante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Giovanni Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Benedito Vasconcelos managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Guida SS's João Paulo Freire fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 39th minute Giovanni Cavalcante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedito Vasconcelos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Sapecada's goalkeeper Benedito Vasconcelos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Paulo Freire. Eugênio Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Rony Barbosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Giovanni Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Vasconcelos having to interfere. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Giovanni Cavalcante to make the kick off. A collision led to Sapecada getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Aloísio Félix hit a great ball. In the 56th minute, Jefferson Chaves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76th match minute, Sapecada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaltino Peixoto to maneuver through the defense. In the 78thth minute of the game Giovanni Cavalcante who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sapecada's Benedito Vasconcelos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Giovanni Cavalcante struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Benedito Vasconcelos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guida SS. Guida SS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Eugênio Novaes scored to the left of an out of position Rony Barbosa, making the score, 2-3. In the 97th minute, Christian Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
