After a rather tough play, Iraja AD's Jacinto Paraibano got a free kick in the 32nd minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elias Pombal to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Belmiro de Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iraja AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Belmiro de Medeiros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nuno Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elias Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Décio Bastos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nuno Lara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. The supporters of Pitangui SS booed when Iraja AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Pitangui SS's Luís Fabiano Travassos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Haroldo Arantes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
