In the 3rd minute, João Paulo Prata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 8 minutes, Thomás Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marretas AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thomás Cearense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cássio Fonseca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vitório Paiva having to make a save. The supporters of Marretas AD booed when S.E.Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Paulo Prata didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ivo Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Capixaba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Felipe Capixaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomás Cearense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Paulo Prata during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 29th minute, João Paulo Prata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes into the match, Thomás Cearense notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of S.E.Palmeiras's Vitório Paiva. Vitório Paiva was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Marretas AD defense, Frédson Vargas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivo Neto. The Marretas AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivo Neto should have stopped the shot. Frédson Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marretas AD's Ivo Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Capixaba in the 47th minute of play.

The wind increased when Frédson Vargas made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Marretas AD's goalkeeper Ivo Neto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felipe Capixaba. Cássio Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitório Paiva having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, S.E.Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Thomás Cearense came free, but Vitório Paiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Samuel Mangueira charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuel Mangueira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, S.E.Palmeiras's Samuel Mangueira got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute, Felipe Capixaba made a precise shot to the right of Ivo Neto. Marretas AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. S.E.Palmeiras's Felipe Capixaba got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Marretas AD booed when S.E.Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Paulo Prata didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Marretas AD's Zé Pedro Eger tried to score from far away in the 75th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ivo Neto made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Felipe Capixaba sent off a good shot on target. In the 81st match minute, Marretas AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlinhos Valle to maneuver through the defense. When Felipe Capixaba came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the S.E.Palmeiras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipe Capixaba couldn't finish the play. Thomás Cearense took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vitório Paiva. Vitório Paiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. If Felipe Capixaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
