In the 16th minute of the game, Cosso EC got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. Rodriguinho de Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Rosquita getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Júlio da Rocha hit a great ball. Luís Fabiano Xavier kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Joaquim Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Lira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Rosquita's zone, Gerson Quintal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamin Veiga came out of the goal and Gerson Quintal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Richard Lira struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Benjamin Veiga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cosso EC. Joaquim Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho de Alcântara having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Richard Lira was the one to do the kick off. When Richard Lira came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Cosso EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richard Lira couldn't finish the play. Richard Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Veiga having to interfere. In the 65th minute Richard Lira suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulão Vieira during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Rosquita's Paulão Vieira got a free kick in the 66th minute. After having played for 67 minutes, Gerson Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cosso EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerson Quintal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 68th match minute, Rosquita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Magno Camargo to maneuver through the defense. Gerson Quintal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 71 minutes into the game, Júlio da Rocha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rosquita's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cosso EC the free kick. Júlio da Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Gerson Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rodriguinho de Alcântara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomé Mattos in the 78th minute of play. After 82 played minutes Tomé Mattos rounded Cosso EC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. Gerson Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th match minute, Rosquita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válbson Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. Gerson Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gino Martins in the 91st minute of play forced Rosquita's goalkeeper Benjamin Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquim Vargas struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Rodriguinho de Alcântara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rosquita. If Gerson Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
