The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Taitinga's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio de Amaral came free, but Percival Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, Ulysses Nogueira notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Taitinga's Percival Velasco. Percival Velasco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Percival Velasco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulysses Nogueira in the 8th minute of the match. Taitinga's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lauro Chaves in the 14th minute. The corner led Taitinga's Lauro Chaves to fire away a dangerous shot which Ian Nunes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Percival Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sérgio de Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, Taitinga's goal looked a bit too open when Ulysses Nogueira came free, but Percival Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ulysses Nogueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Percival Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Taitinga's Frederico Catarinense got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Arí Perez fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Frexeiras's protests and gave Arí Perez a yellow card for diving instead. Arí Perez kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Donato das Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 28 minutes into the game, Frexeiras's Ulysses Nogueira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Percival Velasco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After 34 minutes of play, Frexeiras's Sérgio de Amaral made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Percival Velasco was left in no man's land by his defense there! Percival Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulysses Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 48th minute, Donato das Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Sérgio de Amaral made the kick off in the second half. Percival Velasco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio de Amaral in the 55th minute of the match. Percival Velasco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sérgio de Amaral's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Arí Perez was shown his second yellow card after 58 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Taitinga booed when Frexeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arí Perez didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Frederico Catarinense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ian Nunes was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. With a little luck, Taitinga's Percival Velasco got control of the ball when Ulysses Nogueira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ian Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Percival Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Taitinga's zone, Ulysses Nogueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Percival Velasco came out of the goal and Ulysses Nogueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Taitinga's Percival Velasco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Taitinga from getting a goal against them. After having played for 82 minutes, Ulysses Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Frexeiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulysses Nogueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Taitinga's Percival Velasco got control of the ball when Ulysses Nogueira tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Frederico Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the game, Sérgio de Amaral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Frexeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taitinga the free kick. Sérgio de Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Lauro Chaves might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ian Nunes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lauro Chaves ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 96th minute, Ulysses Nogueira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Frexeiras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Frexeiras's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
