After a rather tough play, Melancias's Paulão Godoi got a free kick in the 2nd minute. 4 minutes into the game, Massape's Adalberto da Silveira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Válbson Lima made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 8th minute, Carlos Alberto Albuquerque got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Celsinho Pinho was a little too slow when Elói Zanette got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 9th minute. The score was now 1-1. Eugênio Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Eugênio Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válbson Lima having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Eugênio Valadares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Carlos Figueiredo during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. João Carlos Figueiredo hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugênio Valadares in the 34th minute of play forced Melancias's goalkeeper Válbson Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Carlos Alberto Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Celsinho Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elói Zanette, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Melancias's João Carlos Figueiredo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Celsinho Pinho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mateus da Fonseca during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Naldo Matos hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elói Zanette to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Melancias's Válbson Lima got control of the ball when Adalberto da Silveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. João Carlos Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Melancias's goalkeeper Válbson Lima had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adalberto da Silveira. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugênio Valadares in the 62nd minute of play forced Melancias's goalkeeper Válbson Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adalberto da Silveira scored 1-2 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Válbson Lima, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 70 minutes into the match, Massape's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Alberto Albuquerque came free, but Celsinho Pinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adalberto da Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válbson Lima having to interfere. Eugênio Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 79th minute Eugênio Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válbson Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Melancias's goal looked a bit too open when Eugênio Valadares came free, but Válbson Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eugênio Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adalberto da Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Adalberto da Silveira could shoot a difficult shot in the 97th minute, which Válbson Lima however easily saved by the left post. When the final whistle sounded Massape left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Melancias.
