Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Massape's Eugênio Valadares started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Massape's goalkeeper Celsinho Pinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 5th minute, Cauã Faria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilberto Travassos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adalberto da Silveira in the 7th minute. 12 minutes into the game, Eugênio Valadares recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gilberto Travassos. Eugênio Valadares showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 16 minutes into the match, Albertinho Lira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Celsinho Pinho. Massape's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Albertinho Lira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. If Albertinho Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dorival Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rodrigues EC's Albertinho Lira got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, Massape's goal looked a bit too open when Dorival Mineiro came free, but Celsinho Pinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilberto Travassos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adalberto da Silveira in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertinho Lira in the 30th minute of play forced Massape's goalkeeper Celsinho Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 played minutes Rodrigues EC got a freekick which was hit by Cauã Faria. Celsinho Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albertinho Lira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 42 minutes of play, Rodrigues EC's Albertinho Lira made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Celsinho Pinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Rodrigues EC's Gilberto Travassos got control of the ball when Adalberto da Silveira tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Albertinho Lira was the one to do the kick off. Dorival Mineiro kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 51stth minute. Though ot was a great shot Massape's keeper Celsinho Pinho was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Gilberto Travassos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugênio Valadares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugênio Valadares in the 57th minute of play forced Rodrigues EC's goalkeeper Gilberto Travassos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albertinho Lira was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 58th minute. Rodrigues EC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Massape's Celsinho Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertinho Lira in the 63rd minute of play. Dorival Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Celsinho Pinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Dorival Mineiro came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Rodrigues EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dorival Mineiro couldn't finish the play. 70 minutes into the match, Albertinho Lira dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Celsinho Pinho, 1-3. 76 minutes into the match, Rodrigues EC's Frederico Netto broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Eugênio Valadares struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Gilberto Travassos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Massape. Massape's Celsinho Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertinho Lira in the 87th minute of play. Gilberto Travassos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugênio Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Dorival Mineiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Celsinho Pinho having to make a save. Celsinho Pinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albertinho Lira in the 96th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Rodrigues EC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Massape.
