Gernando de Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gernando de Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gernando de Queiroz hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. 11 minutes into the match, Vinhatico's goalkeeper Cristiano Silveira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dinei da Fonseca. Aluísio Lara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gernando de Queiroz went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Aluísio Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otávio Aguiar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Régis Marinho hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Otávio Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Vinhatico's Gernando de Queiroz got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Roma's Basílio Seco couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Vinhatico. Gernando de Queiroz struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Aluísio Lara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vinhatico. If Osvald Moberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 30 minutes into the match, Roma's goal looked a bit too open when Olavo Recife came free, but Aluísio Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute Luís Aguiar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Otávio Aguiar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Aluísio Lara was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Vinhatico's Otávio Aguiar in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Roma's goalie prevented a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luís Aguiar to strike the kick off in the second half. Aluísio Lara was out of position in the 53 minute of play, and Otávio Aguiar capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Otávio Aguiar really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Vinhatico's Otávio Aguiar was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 58th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Norberto Pirani kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Vinhatico's goal looked a bit too open when Cícero Pires came free, but Cristiano Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 68 played minutes Vinhatico got a freekick which was hit by Egon Rolandsson. 72 minutes into the match, Vinhatico's goal looked a bit too open when Dinei da Fonseca came free, but Cristiano Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristiano Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Aguiar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Cafu Vieira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vinhatico's supporters rose to their feet, but Cafu Vieira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aluísio Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Otávio Aguiar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Egon Rolandsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aluísio Lara having to interfere. Wilian Maciel hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Otávio Aguiar might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aluísio Lara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Otávio Aguiar ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Vinhatico's Gernando de Queiroz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Aluísio Lara. That made the score 0-5 after 86 minutes of play. The audience was convinced that Otávio Aguiar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aluísio Lara was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Cristiano Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Aguiar in the 96th minute of play. The Roma fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Vinhatico were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
