The audience was convinced that Bebeto Goiano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erivaldo Monteiro was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Chumbo's Ramiro Trigo got a free kick in the 45th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Otávio de Almeida made a kick off. Frederico Maciel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovanni Ribeiro in the 62nd minute of play. Otávio de Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bebeto Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erivaldo Monteiro having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Otávio de Almeida got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Timoteo's Otávio de Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
